Dr. W. Harold Brown

Dr. W. Harold Brown
Dr. W. Harold Brown II is a native of Shreveport graduating from
Andover Preparatory School. He received premedical education at
Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia graduating in
1967. He received his medical degree at LSU School of Medicine in
New Orleans, Louisiana. General surgery residency training was
completed at Confederate Memorial in Shreveport, Louisiana. Plastic
surgery residency was completed at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in
Houston, Texas. Dr Brown trained under Dr. Tom Cronin,
world-renowned plastic surgery pioneer, inventor of the silicone
breast implant. Dr. Brown was certified by the American Board of
Plastic Surgery in 1984.
Dr. Brown went into practice with Dr. Lewell Butler in 1977.
They were in practice together until Dr. Butler retired in 1984.
Dr. Brown has been practicing with his partner, Dr. Barron J.
O’Neal since 1984. They combine over 50 years of experience
to provide a high standard of patient care achieving elegant
results with the latest surgical techniques. Dr. Brown has hospital
affiliations with Christus Schumpert, Willis Knighton Health
Systems, and Shreveport Surgery Center.
Dr. Brown is a member of the American society of Plastic &
Reconstructive Surgeons, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic
Surgery and Shreveport Medical Society.
Dr. Brown is an avid Bridge player. He also enjoys hiking,
gardening, traveling, scuba diving and ballroom dancing.

Dr. Barron Johns O’Neal

Dr. Barron Johns O’Neal
Dr. Barron Johns O’Neal is a native of Shreveport
graduating from Byrd High School in 1970, president of his senior
class. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from LSU in Baton
Rouge, majoring in Zoology. He was a member of the Pre-Medical
Honor Society and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He received his Doctoral
Degree from LSU Medical School in Shreveport where he was chairman
of the Honor Council and president of his senior class. He received
his general surgery residency training at LSU Medical Center in
Shreveport and Plastic Surgery residency was completed at the
University of Louisville Health Center. He was certified by the
American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1985.
Dr. O’Neal has been practicing with his partner, Dr. W.
Harold Brown since 1984. They combine over 50 years of experience
to provide a high standard of patient care achieving elegant
results with the latest surgical techniques.
Dr. O’Neal is on the active staff of all Shreveport area
hospitals having served a variety of leadership roles including
Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery, Physicians Advisory Committees,
Cancer Conference Committees, Director of Wound Care, Quality
Review Council, and Delegate of the Louisiana State Medical
Society. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of surgery at the
LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
Outside the hospital setting, Dr. O’Neal is a member of
the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Shreveport Medical
Society and Louisiana State Medical Society. His is past president
of the LSU Medical School Alumni Association and Pierremont Oaks
Tennis Club. He serves on the Vestry of St. Mark’s Episcopal
Church, sits on the school board of St. Mark’s Cathedral
School and serves as Medical Advisor for the St. Mark’s
Church medical outreach missions.
Dr. O’Neal is listed in the Consumers Research Council of
America’s “Guide to America’s Top
Surgeons”, Who’s Who in America, Best Doctors, Inc.,
Shreveport/Bossier SB Magazine Top Doctors 2005, Louisiana Life
Magazine Louisiana’s Top Doctors 2006, Guide to
America’s Top Plastic Surgeons 2006 and Best Doctors in
America 2007-2008.
Dr. O’Neal has articles published in multiple pier
reviewed medical journals including Annals of Surgery, Archives of
Surgery, Journal of Surgical Research, The Archives of Dermatology,
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Surgical Rounds.
Dr. O’Neal has been married for twenty years and has four
children. He is an avid tennis player winning State Championship
Titles and enjoys all outdoor activities.
